No not the movie, The Village at Big Bear Lake. It is time for Friday Nights in the Village for the next 14 weeks there are vendors, bands and entertainment in the Village at Big Bear Lake. The village consists of many shops and several restaurants. There are different activities depending on the which weekend you attend.

Last night my wife, youngest son and I attended Friday Nights in the Village in our own ways. My youngest son took his fishing gear met up with a friend and fished. My Wife went shopping and just looking around to see what had closed and what was new. One of the most unique stores is  Stupididiotic, even if you don't need a gift for someone you really need to look through this store and put a grin on your face. One of the new stores my wife came across is Le Dolce Vita Tasting Room, yes, wine tasting in the village. We were all together for dinner and tried a place we had not been to before Jasper's Smokehouse and Steaks. We were all impressed with the food, the service was good and the cost about $70 for three dinners,

So if you live in Southern California head to Big Bear Lake on Friday Nights. It is 20 degrees cooler, there is outdoor music, shops, restaurants. There is a lot to do in The Village and around the lake. Have Fun!

This week I applied for graduation from Western Governors University. Celebrated with my wife at Disneyland and took a trip to San Diego to watch our daughter receive  her masters degree. And since we were in San Diego we went to SeaWorld.

Our first day in San Diego  was at the convention center. We arrived wanting some food and saw from the convention center a restaurant called Tin Fish. The food was excellent and the price was reasonable. We returned to the Convention Center and watched our daughter receive her masters degree from National University. After the two ceremonies we walked to Sally's Seafood for dinner. The food was wonderful and the view on the patio was great. We then returned to the convention center to retrieve our car and find our bed and breakfast. We went with the Italian Bed and Breakfast mainly for two reasons, parking in San Diego especially by the convention center is expensive, and second for the price of the hotels on either side of the convention center I could get a room and SeaWorld tickets. The room was beautiful, the breakfast wonderful, and chef Mary was helpful not only in food but what to see while in San Diego. If I have a return trip to San Diego I will be going back to the Italian Bed and Breakfast.

SeaWorld was fun you can watch the pictures below. After all day at SeaWorld we went to Cafe Zucchero for dinner again the food was wonderful and if you don't want dinner you have to have one of the many Italian desserts they are beautiful. We finished our stay in San Diego by going to the Farmers Market in Little Italy. All sorts of produce, entertainment, food, and goodies to buy.
